 I have been playing Animal Crossing in different variations for the past 10 years. I blame Strawberry Farm Boy Mike for this. Video Game nerdery wasn't really my thing. I will fully admit that my hand eye coordination is terrible. It's the reason I can't play Zelda games or Mario. As a kid, hanging out with my cousins, we would play fighting games. Yes button mashing games like Street Fighter were the best. But when they would put in Contra or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I was out. My brain couldn't tell my fingers what to do to achieve the goals of whatever games were being played. There are busted copies of NES Double Dragon, Tiger Heli, and Top Gun somewhere in the Philippines. I couldn't even get past the second level of Tiger Heli. Double Dragon? I think I got pretty far. I remember having to face Abobo, who I would always call "Adobo"  I sucked at video games, except for Tetris. I could get in a zone and go to level 20 and be cool. My trick is to turn off the sound. Also to simply keep playing. Early on I would give up, but I figured if I kept playing I would see the Kremlin and some space ship taking off.  I have a tumblr that specifically is for my Animal Crossing nerdery. I try to post pictures to the tumblr, but lately I've been too busy with fire emblem and also my real life (IRL) to post Animal Crossing updates. Strawberry Farm Boy Mike has decided to try his luck at making bells (animal crossing talk for money) with turnips. Turnips are like the stock market. You buy them on Sunday from this old Boar Joan. She sells you these turnips at whatever rate. Then you are supposed to sell them to make bells.  Strawberry Farm Boy Mike created a google spreadsheet to track our "stalk" market. This is the level of nerdery that we partake in when it comes to Animal Crossing. As you can see, I am not happy with this turnip business.   In conclusion, I really shouldn't be in charge of my stalks or stocks. This is why I have people who manage my funds. Stupid turnips.

8.20.11 Two years married to Strawberry Farm Boy. Sillies, nerdery, & love.  My latest obsession Writing has come to a screeching halt. I'm obsessed with this Strategic Role Playing Game called Fire Emblem. It's basically taken over my life.  Last night activities It does not help that Strawberry Farm Boy mike is also in the middle of a campaign on Earthbound. It's his favorite game and he owns it in multiple formats. We're nerds.
