In this mini episode, the TFAL crew and Vincent Collyer, TFAL graphic designer, talk about their experiences traveling to the Philippines, and how crazy it is that I have never set foot on Philippine soil. Is it really more fun in the Philippines? Is it time for me to make the journey to the motherland? Let us know! Tweet at us @TFALpodcast. Comment on This Filipino American Life. Last night was the Comedy Comedy Fest kick off event at Seoul Sausage. It also happened to be the birthdays of two Asian Americans in entertainment, Daniel Dae Kim and M. Night Shyamalan. Tsismis Coucil (Eseel &I) knows how to throw the best birthday parties for your imaginary bffs. There will be balloons. There will be streamers. There will be big heads on sticks that you will want to take pictures with because why not?!
There was cake. So much cake. SO MUCH DELICIOUS CAKE.
Many thanks to Chef Dara Yu for providing the cupcakes. They were SO GOOD. Why were they good? Well a) they were bite size, so you didn't feel like you were gorging yourself, b) they were bite size so you could eat the equivalent of one whole cupcake but not feel THAT bad because they were mini, and c) they were bite size and super delicious and I may or may not have done A and B. It wouldn't be a birthday party without a sheet cake. Thank you to Vons for holding it down on the traditional birthday cake end. The party also was the reveal of the new Comedy Comedy Fest mascot, "Marcel the Piñata." They had fun with DDK and M. Night. They're available for pictures at Comedy Comedy Fest shows. Marcel is looking forward to some laughs!
What's a birthday party without blowing out some candles DDK & M. Night were there in spirit (and in big head form) as Jenny Yang, (producer of Comedy Comedy Fest), and the Comedy Comedy Fest leadership team blew out the birthday candles on their behalf.
Rad moments made by some rad folks. Huzzahs and thank yous all around for everyone who helped out and attended the kick off party!

August also happens to be our anniversary month! That's right. Mike and I got married in August and we want to celebrate with our family and friends at Disco Manila. Both of our parents are fans of disco. Pops Oblivious would share stories about his time in the Philippines, dancing the night away to VST. I'm quite excited for this show. It's going to be an awesome time. Plus it's a part of Grand Performances. I love this series. It isn't a summer in Los Angeles without a concert in California Plaza!
And lastly SAVE THE DATE! FPAC 25 is coming! Samu't Sari. October 8th, 2016 at Echo Park Lake.
